Around this time of year there are heaps of bloggers writing posts about this joyous Thanksgiving holiday gathering friends, family, and loved ones. These are great, and I thought about writing one too. however, I realized that would be boring and I hate boring blogs. Even worse I have a strong no generic content policy that I abide so that left me only the option of a twist on the old Thanksgiving blog post with a hint of comedy and a full squeeze of sarcasm.
So on this lovely Thanksgiving Eve I decided I am going to go home and tell those closest to me in real life how I feel and in the meantime share some laughs and gaffs of things I’m (not so) thankful for, yet I put up with anyway (Pardon the Rant)…
- Spam: Just stop it already. I know there are really bad pictures of me on the internet. Have you seen my Facebook page?
- Brainless Retweeting: Really? That (insert bad content provided by popular person) was worth retweeting?
- Gratuitous Oversharing: Nobody (not even your mom, especially her!) wants to know that about you!
- Endless Public Conversations: Keep the string to 3 back and forth tweets. After that take it offline, or online via a medium that the entire world doesn’t have to see.
- Shameless Self Promotion: Be ashamed or stop doing it. If you wouldn’t do it in real life, don’t do it online…
- Know It All(s): You can’t possibly know everything about every topic. Sadly, you think you do.
- Fakes: Not everyone is sparkly and perfect. I love a bit of optimism, but I must ask…What color is the sky in your world?
- Trolls: In your world the sky is Black and your raining on everyone’s parade. Go crawl back in the hole you came from.
- Copiers and Me Too(ers): Do you have any ideas of your own?
- Ranting, Babbling, Sarcastic Wise Guys: People that write blogs like this one deserve to be on this list! I’m going to unfollow myself now.
Now that you all know what I’m (not really) Thankful for, just know…I am thankful for Family, Friends, Loved Ones, and those that make every day worth living to the fullest. <-- Did I include you? If you are here, then I'm sure I did!
Happy Thanksgiving!
KnealeMann LOL - thanks bro!

Gee, Dan, wish I had read this before I wrote my current post which is a rant. Followiong your advice, I am off to unfollow myself. Thx for setting me straight.
janetcallaway Never too many rants Janet! I look forward to stopping by and reading yours :)

"I’m going to unfollow myself now." - Very funny Dan.
keepupweb I tried to DM myself after following myself but Twitter wouldn't let me. Funny thing is that DM would have been less annoying than some that I receive. Thanks for your support!

Pollyanna here ... polished up my rose-coloured glasses and was just taking a break from feeding my unicorns when I ran across this post ... heh heh #10s are my faves ;)
First time here...and now I want to return! Thanks for the late night giggle here! Saw this post tweeted by @Biebert and glad I stopped by. I am guilty of none of these....haha!
Joanne CipressiBiebert Joanne - great to meet you. biebert is someone I admire. Glad you got a laugh and more importantly I'm honored to have your readership! Look forward to future conversation.
Found you through @TedRubin. Thanks for the laugh! (Especially after a day like I had today. Yes Sue, trolls are still to be found under foot).
AllProactivetedrubin is one of my favorite people. Glad to be connected here!
Dan, thanks for the chuckle. I'm going to go share it now. :-)
Have a happy Thanksgiving sir.
Biebert Back at you Aaron <- an 8pm warrior that I respect and am quite grateful for on this Thanksgiving day!
I wish that people would stop sending "thanks for following!" auto-DMs on Twitter. The gratitude is implied, thank you. -Sarrah
mycolleges I wish they would too! I agree. I often respond to them and ask them if that is an Auto DM. Hoping they will get my drift...
Thanks for the laughs Daniel much appreciated. I thought I was the only one to use the word "troll" anymore. Happy Thanksgiving - please don't post the pictures :)
And I'm thankful for this blog post that made my day! Happy Thanksgiving Daniel to you and your family!
loiscreamer Lois - glad to make you laugh. May you have a wonderful Turkey day as well!
I've got some rants stored up but this is better. And more funnier too. Right now, #2 is topping my ever-growing list of 'things I just don't get.' For #4 I have a similar rule w/ texting; if it takes more than 2 or 3, it's called a phone call. To #8 I'll add the fandoms, champions of the mediocre posts in point 2, who'll call out anyone who dare calls the crap crap. And to #1 and #5, the auto-DMs which I can't believe I still get. And FWIW, I'm thankful for snarky posts like this. :)
3HatsComm Can't wait to hear YOUR rants - I just wanted to spice up ye ole Thankful post :)
I don't know. My mom thinks I walk on water.

ginidietrich I must respond to you like you respond to me sometimes on Spin Sucks and say...I don't know how to respond to that!
In serious, it calls for a Mama joke, but I'm sure your Mama is wonderful just like you :)
danielnewmanUV My mom is waaaaaay cooler than me.

You are hilarious! Loved this list! #7 particularly. While I tend to be optimistic, a streak of cynicism and ... well... reality is definitely needed. I never really liked Pollyanna, I thought she was faking it (that shiny sparkly perfection was an act).
CristerDelaCruz Why thank you Crister - please note above comment from ginidietrich and be warned .... THAT is what I'm talking about LOL
I'm thankful for #10...and that is why I gave you a brief Thanksgiving shoutout in my own blogging video (wow, we are all doing this). I've appreciated your 12Most and Triberr contributions, Dan...along with the occasional quotes in the feed.
So you don't have to go through the whole 6min video, you are around 4:55 ;)
dbvickery please insert link below. This isn't self promo btw - it is Me Promo and I'm a fan ;0D

danielnewmanUV Here you go buddy. Mr BruceSallan is in there, also. He was the inspiration for the shirt I wore ;)

My name is Ashton Kutcher. Together with Al Gore, I created Twitter and invented the Internet. I have a new book out that you should buy. Oh, and did I tell you that I'm getting divorced?! Please RT this repeatedly. Remember, I really am Ashton. I think I'm going to copy this list and post it as mine. No one will know...I'll change a few words. But, first I have to finish my current post on being the master of everything!

I should make a list of the lists that list lists in list form. Then I can keep all the lists well organized for further reference in a master list. But first, I should unfollow danielnewmanUV and myself.
